Discussing Concerns

Internal Examination

Though how often we recommend it depends on your age and other risk factors, we may suggest a Pap smear. During this test, our physician will obtain a sample of the cervical cells. The cells are sent to the lab and analyzed to check for potential abnormalities, including precancer and cancer.

Discussing Vaccinations and Pregnancy Prevention

Part of the treatment may consist of our doctor asking you about your current birth control. If you are not currently using a birth control method or would like a better option, we can discuss all this during your visit. Let's say you are trying to prevent STDs. We offer PrEP for AIDS and the papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
